Benjamin Mertz, founder and musical director of the Joyful Noise! Gospel Singers,
is a native of New Jersey with a background in jazz piano and multilingual sacred music.
He also works as the Music Director at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Sebastopol
and Assistant Music Director at Sonoma Academy, a college preparatory high school.
