Butterfly Effect

It’s a matter of trust, burying daffodil bulbs in my garden,

an expectation that rain, warming sun will stimulate

King Alfred blooms to resurrect from the dead.

Poetry permeates the soul, piques imagination,

expands vocabulary, alters perspective,

permits me to sprout wings, soar, swim among dolphins.

Storytelling prompts possibilities,

opens clenched fists, softens hearts,

crumbles walls, awakens our better selves.

Let us release a tsunami of positive change,

envision a healed planet, restored species,

resurrected empathy, universal kindness.
