“THE AMERICAN PEOPLE v. AMERICAN HISTORY”

By J.H. Johns

Narration by Paul Mann

 PLAINTIFF:  THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

DEFENDANT:  AMERICAN HISTORY

THE CRIME:  INERTIA

For a country

that

can land a man on the moon –

and get him off;

for a country

that

can send a rover

able to function –

for years –

in the harsh Martian environment;

is it a country

whose people

can create

music, art, literature,

inventions

and medical breakthroughs

or

is it

a country

that cannot

invent,

create, construct

some sort of

interactive

interpretive

near-to-virtual

manner

or way

that puts

all things

that

insult

and

injure –

physically,

mentally

spiritually –

some portion

of our citizenry

for a country

that

cannot

accomplish this simple task

together –

what does it say –

what is the verdict

on it

surviving

the tests of time?

END
