Chicago

Hog Butcher for the World,

Tool Maker, Stacker of Wheat,

Player with Railroads and the Nation’s Freight Handler;

 Stormy, husky, brawling,

 City of the Big Shoulders.

–  Carl Sandburg (1914)

From the mid-60s to the mid-90s, photographer Paul Sequeira created a Chicago portfolio of more than 20,000 images. My challenge was to select 17 Sequeira modern day photographs that captured the spirit of Chicago and rang true with the words Sandburg wrote 70 years earlier.  I call these Sequeira photographs: Chicago Large(LeRoy Chatfield, Publisher)
