Written by Laura Garavaglia

Italy

It thawed into the silence of a farewell,

time, which slipped through our fingers,

burnt down to ashes.

And it was not only the words,

the piled up things

which shut memory in the furrow,

life’s deep wrinkle,

two planks nailed on our heart.

Laura Garavaglia lives in Como. She is poet, translator, journalist, founder and president of “La Casa della Poesia di Como” and director of International Poetry
Annarita Tavani holds a PhD in English Studies (Linguisitcs) and presently collaborates with Università degli Studi, Bergamo.
